.  The private sector joined the fundraising campaign destined to community development projects in El Salvador.

The firms Anheuser-Busch Inc, King Wholesales Inc, and Gulfire Distributing Company, Budweiser distribution companies in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas will contribute to the projects of the Salvadoran American Chamber of Commerce of that area and the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), an institution affiliated to the Organization of American States (OAS).

The beer companies will donate $0.15 for each Budweiser or Bud Light beer sold in a Latin restaurant affiliated to the campaign, which will be held between April 15 and June 15.

It was announced that one of the first beneficiary projects is located in canton Los Novillos in San Pedro Masahuat, La Paz.

In that locality, five peasant cooperatives, with a total of 50 families, have received financial and technical resources to develop non traditional agricultural products, mentioned the Chamber in a press release.

In an area of 12 blocks, they will cultivate part of the products that will be processed, such as papaya, maracuyá, oranges, loroco, zucchini, coconut, pineapple, and chili, among other, they declared.
